Stone veneer

Stone veneer is a thin layer of natural or manufactured stone applied to a structural surface.

Stone veneer is a non-structural facing of natural or manufactured stone applied over a wall, column, foundation, or outdoor feature. It delivers the look of full masonry at lower weight and cost, and is common on home facades, outdoor kitchens, and fireplace surrounds. Properly installed veneer includes a drainage plane and flashing to keep water out of the wall.
