Efflorescence

Efflorescence is the white, powdery salt deposit that can appear on new pavers, concrete, or stone.

Efflorescence is a white, powdery deposit of natural salts that migrates to the surface of pavers, concrete, or masonry as moisture evaporates. It is cosmetic, common on new installations, and usually fades within the first year or can be removed with a dedicated cleaner. It is not a sign of defective material.
